(Day One)
Depart from either Phoenix or Flagstaff. Travel through the largest known stand of Ponderosa Pine forest en route to Meteor Crater. View the most perfectly preserved meteor impact site in the world where astronauts trained for the first Apollo mission. Continue on to the north entrance of the Petrified Forest National Park. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch overlooking the Spectacular Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park. Visit the prehistoric Puerco Pueblo Ruins and the famous Newspaper Rock Pictographs. Journey through each forest section where fossilized tree trunks have existed for millions of years. At the south entrance museum, view a vast range of informative and interesting exhibits and displays. Depart the Petrified Forest and travel to Winslow Arizona for Dinner and Lodging at the recently restored and Famous La Posada Hotel.

(Day Two)
Have an elegant breakfast followed by a tour of the La Posada Hotel. Journey to the south through Long Valley and learn about Arizona’s cattleman and sheepherder’s war. Continue below the Mogollon Rim into Zane Grey Country and the town of Payson. Have a hearty lunch at Kole’s Ranch near the famous author’s cabin. Visit Showlow, Pinetop and the spectacular White Mountains region of Arizona. Travel to Fort Apache and learn about Geronimo and his legacy. Continue to either Phoenix or Flagstaff by way of Salt River Canyon or the Verde Valley. Both routes provide an opportunity for a beautiful sunset at the end of a magnificent day.
